The adventure begins when your Big Red Jeep arrives at your home or hotel to whisk you and your partner off on a romantic sunset journey through the twisted labyrinth of geological cuts and canyons of the San Andreas Fault Zone.   (Guests in Palm Springs are asked to meet at the Metate Ranch Parking Lot).  

Visit a pristine natural palm oasis, explore a Cahuilla Indian Village exhibit, and witness the tremendous power of nature where the Pacific and North American Plates collide creating spectacular canyons and jagged landscapes. 

As the sun sets, your naturalist guide will bring you to an Old Mining Camp where you will enjoy a romantic picnic supper. 

After dinner, you can enjoy stargazing under the clear desert skies before it's time to return home.

Things to Bring:

• Wear closed-toe shoes with rubber soles (such as tennis shoes or hiking boots).  Sandals and shoes with high heels are not recommended.

• Wear comfortable clothing - we recommend you dress in layers as desert temperatures can change quickly.  A light sweater or jacket are also recommended. 

• Don't forget your camera or video camera - the photo opportunities are amazing!

CHOICE OF SALAD:

• Orchard Salad - Mesclun greens, crumbled goat cheese, roasted green apples, and a walnut vinaigrette.
• Silver Spur Salad - Mixed baby greens with grilled chicken, pecans, crumbled gorgonzola, red onions, fresh raspberrie
• Spinach Strawberry Salad - Spinach with fresh strawberries, jicama, and toasted walnuts in a sweet onion poppy seed vinaigrette.

CHOICE OF ENTREE: 

• Lemon Rosemary Chicken - Tender chicken breast marinated with lemon and rosemary.
• Herb Roasted Tenderloin - Marinated beef tenderloin roasted to medium rare then sliced. Served with creamy horseradish sauce, garlic mustard, sliced cipolline balsamic onions, and French rolls.
• Poached Salmon - Salmon filet poached in white wine and herbs served with a dill sauce.
• California Tri Tip - Juicy and tender tri tip marinated in Santa Maria seasoning.

Reservations:

• 48-hours advance notice is required for this package to allow us time to make all the arrangements. Please let us know if you would like to add on anything else special such as flowers or champagne.

• Your jeep will arrive at your home or hotel to pick up you and your someone special about 2 hours before sunset.  (Guests in Palm Springs are asked to at the Metate Ranch Parking Lot. 
• First you will enjoy a romantic Sunset Jeep Tour of the San Andreas Fault. 
• At sunset, you will arrive at our Old Mining Camp for a delicious picnic supper.
