Stunning rock formations and the contrasting greens of magnificent fan palms and more than 150 species of plants beckon travelers to the spectacular Palm Springs Indian Canyons. This incredible journey takes you into the lush palm oases of the magnificent Palm Springs Indian Canyons. On your adventure you will:

• Visit the ancestral home of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians as your naturalist guide entertains you with the history, culture, legends, and stories of the Cahuilla People.  Along the way you will learn about historic Rincon Village and the Cahuilla People’s amazing understanding and use of desert plants.
• Enjoy a guided hike on a tranquil trail up Andreas Canyon that winds along a beautiful stream of cascading water features shaded by a canopy of California Fan Palms.  At the top of the trail you will emerge above the palms to enjoy a breathtaking view across to the steep cliff walls on the opposite side.  During this easy 1 mile trek, you will visit ancient bedrock mortars and see a stunning array of desert flora and the sacred mound that marks the location of the Cahuilla’s creator, Mukat.
• From the rim of Palm Canyon you will be able to take amazing photos of the largest natural palm oasis in the North American hemisphere. Then you will enjoy a short nature walk to a water cave that feeds water into the lush canyon below during the winter and spring.
• Relax, refresh, and shop for unique gifts and souvenirs at the Indian Trading Post which features Indian art and artifacts, books, jewelry, pottery, baskets, weavings, refreshments, and more.

This money-saving package combines a a fascinating naturalist guided tour of the spectacular Palm Springs Indian Canyons and a delicious lunch at Trio Restaurant.  

The Indian Canyon Tour departs daily October through May from the Village Green Heritage Center (219/221 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs) at 9:00 AM. In June, the tour is offered daily at 8:00 AM and during the months of July - September, the tour is offered Friday through Sunday at 8:00 AM.

Lunch is served nearby at Trio Restaurant (707 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Plam Springs).  Your guide can drop you either back at the Village Green or at Trio Restaurant...whichever you prefer.  (If you return to the Village Green, it's just a 10 min. walk to Trio Restaurant).

A lunch reservation will be made for you immediately following your tour.  If you prefer to eat at a different time, just let us know. 

Advance reservations are required for this package and reservations are subject to availability.

Things To Bring

• Wear closed-toe shoes with rubber soles (such as tennis shoes or hiking boots).  Sandals and shoes with high heels are not recommended.
• Wear comfortable clothing - we recommend you dress in layers as desert temperatures can change quickly.  In the cooler months (November through March), we suggest you bring a light sweater or jacket. 
• Bring a hat and sunglasses and apply sunscreen before the tour.
• Don't forget your camera or video camera - the photo opportunities are amazing!

Inclusions

This package includes a naturalist guided jeep eco-tour of the Palm Springs Indian Canyons, bottled water and granola snacks, admission fee for the Indian Canyons, and lunch at Trio Restaurant (see menu) - including sales tax and 18% gratuity!

Exclusions

Guide gratuity for the Indian Canyon tour is not included but is appreciated.
