The adventure begins the moment you board your Big Red Jeep and depart on a jeep eco-tour through the rugged back-country of the Joshua Tree National Park.
You will travel rugged trails up spectacular canyons and through desert washes as you journey through two deserts and the transition zone between two ecosystems.
Below 3,000 feet, the Colorado Desert encompasses the Eastern part of the Joshua Tree National Park and features natural gardens of creosote, ocotillo, and cholla cactus. The higher, moister, and cooler Mojave Desert is the special habitat of the Joshua tree. The rugged mountains of twisted rock and exposed granite monoliths testify to the tremendous forces that shaped and formed the desert landscape.
DonÂt forget your camera, as you will want to take pictures of the gigantic boulders, Joshua trees, yuccas, and other lush plant life that thrive in this area.
This is a great tour to beat the heat in the warmer months as temperatures up in Joshua Tree National Park are typically 10-15 degrees cooler than in the low desert.
